Winter Solstice next Wednesday is the longest night of the year.  From that point on, though the world may get colder for months yet, the warmth of the sun will grow steadily until the first day of summer.  I love this!  It is a perfect metaphor for the current phase of our world transition.  Those of us on a spiritual path have collectively experienced a raising of consciousness over the past 30 years, awakening to faith and trust in life to a much larger degree than we felt prior to that time!  That trust we believe, should herald the new world experience!  But instead the world now seems to be getting colder and farther from the truth.  As we have learned to do with winter’s long months, we now need to learn to trust that the warmth and light of truth, like the sun, are getting stronger and stronger, despite the obvious difficulties of this time.

I feel this verse from Rudolf Steiner’s Calendar of the Soul represents an optimal attitude with which to greet both this time of year, and this season in our planetary and human experience.  He calls us to strive blissfully, following the impulse of our hearts!  He doesn’t suggest that we follow the judgments of our minds, or the fears we have learned throughout human history.  Yes, these are present, and ignoring them may not be prudent, however following their lead disempowers us.  The work we are doing in the world at this time is spiritual.  The deeper our spiritual work, the quicker the old world breaks down so it can be uplifted into the new world and recreated!  We have to be willing to let it go through this breaking down, in order to receive the fruits of our spiritual labors.

The new world is a new place, its rules and purpose are new as well.  We don’t have to makes sense of the old world, make it right, heal it…that is not its destiny.  The old world is destined to pass away as the new world is born.  The new world is being built on a higher plane of Being, it will require us to release our fear, pain, hatred and judgment and to receive our destiny of wholeness and unconditional love.  As we do this, we raise our vibration and enter the new world step by step.  Toward this goal, may we strive blissfully this Winter Solstice and Holiday Season and as we enter into the new year.

Many are dreading certain changes we see coming in the new year.  Realize that these changes are helping with the old world dissolution, and paving the way for something new.  It is like the rototiller that turns the soil, destroying what was there, so a garden can be planted and bear nurturing fruit.  When you see destruction being propagated in our world, try translating that into a metaphorical rototiller!  It is much the same.

I love you and wish you to find peace and happiness this Solstice and Holiday Season, and to enter the new year in faith and trust that life has a purpose…to plant shining seeds of soul into the grounds of worlds!  You each carry shining seeds of soul!  Plant them lovingly into the furrows of soil turned up by the rototiller  that is stimulating the passing of the old world.  Then wait for the season where they can grow!  It is coming, as surely as the sun will grow stronger day by day after the 21st of December until mid June!  Be patient with this season of breaking down of the old world, it is just a season and it too will pass.
