I love this time of year.  Spiritually, it is such an interesting transition.  Rudolph Steiner does an amazing job of conveying the way our soul evolves through the seasons.

In his book The Calendar of the Soul.  He explains how in  summer we expand and spirit touches us, planting the seed of higher consciousness and purpose within our souls.  During this expansion, we almost lose ourselves.  Now, in this last burst of summer, we are beginning to recall ourselves, and there is an important opportunity to make the gifts we have received our own.  Steiner says it beautifully in this weeks verse:

Can I make wide my soul,

That she may join herself

To seed-word of the world received?

I sense that I must find the strength

To shape my soul in worthy fashion,

To form herself as spirit’s garment

The gifts of spirit come to us in those moments of open-hearted receptivity to the essence of truth, through nature or meditation, even during exercise we can make this contact.  Then in quiet prayer and meditation, we can invite that seed of truth, the gifts of spirit, to become one with us, in our heart and our belly.  It is like a spiritual pregnancy, and this is the union that plants that seed within the womb of our souls; man and woman alike.

Much later, after gestating this seed gift over fall and winter, we can find emerging into consciousness with spring, a new level of wisdom and direction for our evolution and our life.

Rudolph Steiner was an early teacher of ascension.  His gifts are true and beautiful.  I am glad to be able to share this one with you.
